Plans

What's free, what the paid plans add, and why the split falls where it does.

Dictation is free, unlimited, and runs on your own machine. That doesn't change and isn't a trial. Two things can't run locally, and those are what the paid plans are for: an AI cleanup pass, and cloud transcription.

What each plan includes

FreePlus — $3/moPro — $11/mo
Local dictation, all three engines
Punctuation, filler removal, vocabulary
AI cleanup — rewritten for intent and context
Transformations
Vocabulary synced across devices
Cloud transcription, 90+ languages
More than one language in a single pass
Priority support, new features first

Both paid plans are two months cheaper paid annually — $30 and $110 a year. There's an Enterprise plan as well; that one's a conversation rather than a checkout button, so it has a contact link.

One thing worth knowing about Plus

Plus adds the AI cleanup pass, but transcription still runs on whichever engine you have installed — so it hears whatever that engine hears.

Tiune Instant and Tiune Turbo are English-only. If you dictate in another language on Plus, use Tiune Multilingual, which covers 99 of them on your own machine. On Pro the question doesn't arise: transcription happens in the cloud either way.

Why mixing languages mid-sentence is Pro-only

On Pro, a single sentence can contain more than one language — start in Urdu, land in English, drop a French phrase in the middle, and the whole thing comes out right in one pass, with nothing to switch between.

This sits on Pro for a structural reason rather than a commercial one. The on-device engines commit to one language per window of audio and cannot revise that choice partway through a sentence — no local model of any size does. Cloud transcription detects per utterance instead, and the detection runs inside the utterance, so a sentence is allowed to change its mind.

How this works in practice — and how to choose what script the result comes out in — is in Languages & Scripts.

What it costs you in privacy

Different plans send different things, and it's worth being exact about it:

  • Free — nothing leaves your machine. No audio, no text.
  • Plus — the transcribed text is sent for cleanup at the end of a dictation. Your audio never leaves your machine.
  • Pro — audio is sent for transcription, but only when you've turned cloud transcription on.

The three privacy guarantees — no stored audio, no training on your words, no one reading them — hold on every plan. See Privacy for the full picture.
